Ta’Yon is energetic, insightful, and challenges himself continually in academics and personally.
He is very active with the extracurricular activities that are offered, football, track, speech, and debate to name a few. Whether it’s in the community or around the world, Ta’Yon wants to be knowledgeable and involved. His immediate studies in college will be in both business management and political science, double majoring to prepare for his law career. Adversities throughout his life have developed a resilience and perseverance in him that will continue to lead to his success. |
When Kennise is not taking care of her siblings or other family members, she is playing basketball or volunteering in her community to feed the homeless. Kennise assisted and helped organize the first field day for students with multiple disabilities at George Washington High School.
Her academic goals are tied into her natural caregiving, a quality that is felt by her classmates and others around her. Sports Medicine, her field of choice, will maximize her abilities to communicate and teach. |
Taonna exemplifies dedication, hard work, and self-discipline. Her family is her major focus, assisting her father to be sure the household runs smoothly for her siblings. While this takes up most of her free time, she also excelled with JROTC. Recently she was promoted to Battalion Commander after serving as Logistics Officer for the past 2 years.
When she can, Taonna volunteers for community projects, a 9/11 ceremony and annual Christmas drives, to name a few. Her academic interests are in Engineering, and she already taken some college classes to get started. Her drive to learn and determination will keep her on track to achieve her goals. |
Her teachers tell us that Jamaika is an avid student and excels in the science and math subject areas. She would like a 4-year degree from the University of Colorado focusing on a pre-med course study with a major in Chemistry. Her long-term goal is medical school.
Jamaika has been a volunteer in multiple school sponsored activities since the ninth grade. Most recently she has been on the Student Board of Education developing student policy and Dare to Care Colorado assisting with community cleanup. Additionally, Jamaika founded East Angels for Thirst working to provide clean water internationally. Her personal goal is to be the first in her family to graduate from college. |
Estrella is described as mature, helpful, and kind by her teachers. She shares her language skills in the classroom to assist other Spanish speakers to better understand general physics and other classwork. When she is not working, her time is spent in the Denver Leadership Academy or volunteering in her church.
Her career goal is to become a Registered nurse. She is appreciative of the hard work of her immigrant parents that has led her to these opportunities in life |
The best words describing Lindsay are critical thinker, committed, and always striving to increase her knowledge. Her high school years have been busy playing volleyball, student athletic trainer, and working. Her focused approach has been a great asset that has led to her success.
Lindsay wants to be a registered nurse, utilizing her skills and leadership abilities developed in the past 3 years. Her hard work and great time management will be tools she will use to continue this success throughout her college years. |
